AUTUMN GREEN CARPET  Chloroclysta miata
Local. Widely distributed in small numbers and probably under recorded because of flight period.  
Rosie found it in Regions 2 and 4. It was recorded from four Rothamsted sites in the early 1980s and annually between 1989 and 1996.
Lower photo shows white underwing which helps to distinguish this species from Red-green Carpet.
Scottish Status: Common - stable. UK Status: Local
UK distribution shows a significant decline since 1970 (cf: Atlas of Britain & Ireland's Larger Moths)
First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: Spring: 13th May to 20th May  Autumn: 8th September to 8th November  One late record 23rd December
