BEAUTIFUL YELLOW UNDERWING Anarta myrtilli
Probably wide spread in suitable habitat but under recorded because of lack of fieldwork and day flying habit
Described by Rosie as being common on moors. Only subsequent records are of adults in NC94 in 2013, ND06, ND16 & ND26 in 2018 and of larvae from ND15 in 1983 and 2008.

Scottish Status: Common east Highlands scarcer elsewhere - stable. UK Status: Common
UK distribution deceased historically and continues to decline substantially  (cf: Atlas of Britain & Ireland's Larger Moths)
First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: 29th May to 17th July
