BORDERED WHITE    Bupalus piniaria
Common in small numbers. Appears to have benefited from the expansion of commercial forestry planting.
Rosie said that it was found only in Region 4, being established at Rumster Forest and it was not reported from any of the Rothamsted sites.
Common in Dunnet Forest (gathering of ca 100 at one site in 2012) and on moorland, particularly if close to coniferous plantations, with occasional records from habitats with only marginal coniferous presence.

First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: 7th June to 4th August
