Rare migrant or possible recent colonist.
Usually recorded as single males, but two records of three individuals including a females.

Scottish Status: Widespread but never numerous - perhaps increasing. UK Status: Common
UK distribution and abundance have shown very large iincreases since 1970 (cf: Atlas of Britain & Ireland's Larger Moths)
First and last flight times recorded in Caithness:  4th August to 4th September
