CURRANT PUG Eupithecia assimilata
Scattering of recent records. Probably under recorded because of distribution of food plant in private gardens - all recent records are from gardens of regular moth recorders and usually in low single numbers, but 50 recorded on recently planted bushes in Dunnet Forest in 2018.
Not recorded by Rosie, but recorded from four of the Rothamsted sites with two records in 1982 and almost annually from 1990 to 1999
Scottish Status: Common, widespread - stable. UK Status: Common
UK distribution has increased significantly since 1970 but abundance has declined (cf: Atlas of Britain & Ireland's Larger Moths)
First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: 31st May to 22nd August (late July and August records may indicate a second generation in some years)

MAP: black dots last record prior to 2000 red dots last record from 2010 to 2019
