Scattered records across the County in recent years indicate that it has expanded its range in the County since the 1970s.

UK distribution has changed little but abundance has decreased substantially since 1970 (cf: Atlas of Britain & Ireland's Larger Moths)
First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: 1st May to 23rd July.  (Late records in August & September could indicate secod generations)
