Local and scarce.
Said by Rosie to be not uncommon but local in Regions 2 and 4. Recorded from two Rothamsted sites in 1980, 1982 and 1990.
More recently records from scattered sites across the County on an annual basis.
Scottish Status: Common - stable. UK Status: Common
UK distribution shows a modest increase but abundance shows a significant decline since 1970 (cf; Atlas of Britain & Ireland's Larger Moths)
First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: 21st May to 21st August
