Local, most recent records from the north of the County mainly near the coast.
Possibly under recorded. because of lack of fieldwork near to east coast
Said by Rosie to be quite common in Region 5a but just one record from a Rothamsted site in 1996.
Scottish Status: Common,coastal except on Spey shingles - stable. UK Status: Local
UK distribution has contracted substantially since 1970 (cf: Atlas of Britain & Ireland's Larger Moths)
First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: 10th May to 17th July  (one very late record 17th September)
