MOTTLED BEAUTY Alcis repandata
Local (but can be abundant at some sites) and mainly confined to mature broadleaved woodlands, though one record from moorland.
Rosie recorded it as fairly common only in the south of Region 4, but 35 records of small numbers (max 5) from the Reay Rothamsted site between 1980 and 1995.

First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: 12th June to 21st August
