PINE CARPET    Pennithera (Thera) firmata
Appears to have benefited from the planting of commercial coniferous plantations.
One record by Rosie in 1957 but none  from the Rothamsted sites.
Recorded annually from suitable habitat in recent years

Scottish Status: Common - stable. UK Status: Common
UK distribution has increased significantly since 1970 (cf: Atlas of Britain & Ireland's Larger Moths)
First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: 29th May to 15th October
