SETACEOUS HEBREW CHARACTER   Xestia c-nigrum
Common in small numbers - local population probably augmented by migrants in some years.
Two distinct peaks in records, the main in July/August and the lesser mid-September.
Summer records are usually of ones and twos, greatest numbers of individuls per record recorded in Autumn indicating migrants.
Scottish Status: Common E much scarcer W - stable. UK Status: Common
UK distribution shows long-term increase (cf: Atlas of Britain & Ireland's Larger Moths)
First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: 30th May to 21st October
