Recorded annually in small numbers from suitable habitat. Recent colonist benefiting from expansion of commercial forestry.
Not recorded by Rosie, but two records from the Watten Rothamsted site in 1998
Scottish Status: Common - major increase and range expansion. UK Status: Common
UK distribution and abundance show very large increases since 1970 (cf: Atlas of Britain & Ireland's Larger Moths)
First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: Spring/Summer: 6th May to 5th August  Autumn: 5th September to 15th November
