Scarce, reflecting the occurrence of the main food plant in the County, and not recorded annually
Recorded by Rosie in Regions 2 and 4 where broom is established with no indication of frequency.
Recorded from four of the Rothamsted sites annually between 1980 and 1982 and almost annually 1989 to 1996.
Scottish Status: Common E.scarcer on the west coast and Hebrides - stable. UK Status: Common
UK distribution has declined significantly since 1970 (cf: Atlas of Britain & Ireland's Larger Moths)
First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: 22nd August to 8th November
